Preface

This guide is a collection of all known game issues in My Client Center, taken from the official Halo Support page. He and his creator are in no way associated or affiliated with 343i, I am not a Halo developer and cannot provide development support. This guide exists for informational purposes only and was taken verbatim from the official support site.

If you encounter any issues not listed here, please submit a ticket directly to 343i for them to take care of it. I'll try to keep this up to date, but to keep the information up to date and report any issues, please use the support links below.

active issues
The following issues are active in Halo: Scope as of 6/23/2021 version 1.2398.0.0.

• After playing several games in a row in a CGB session, the textures of armor, weapons, vehicles, and Forge objects may turn black for the rest of the game.
• CGB session name and preferences are not preserved after restarting the game.
• If players with older CGB data on Steam add 3 variants in the Create menu, the third variant will not be preserved after restarting the game. All three variants are not supported in the Microsoft Store.
• After exiting the Add Variant menu in Create, you need to hit the "Back" button twice to exit the Create menu.

• NEW - Kneepad adjustment options are reset when updating to v1.2398.0.0.

• Any rotating camera due to the view angle limitation on the passenger seat of the vehicle gets stuck above 60 fps
• Players cannot access the game when the language is set to Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese or Korean

• NEWLY– Moving from a closed area to an open area on a map or campaign mission causes a significant performance drop. This is most common with PC gamers with unlimited FPS.
• Player models seem to temporarily desync when moved after a match
• When entering an elevator in co-op or multiplayer, players will briefly play a falling animation

• Mission progress resets to the beginning of the mission after selecting Resume Campaign after switching between Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S
  In cutscenes during the game "Tip of the Spear", performance drops may occur when using AMD graphics cards

• This feature is in development and will be available for all titles in a future update in the coming months. To stay up to date with the development of this feature, follow MCC's monthly dev blogs

Halo: Evolved Combat

active issues
The following issues are active in Halo: Combat Evolved as of 06/23/2021 in version 1.2398.0.0.

• Weapons cannot be picked up
  • This was an issue identified by a handful of participants during the flight. The solution to this issue we have found is that players using Windows version 1903 can update their version. If you are running Windows 1903 but do not want to upgrade, there is also a maintenance stack update available to address this issue. • Differences from Halo: Combat Evolved, circa 2001, Xbox release
  • We are aware of the differences between Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary for Xbox One and PC compared to the original Xbox version. This is a recognition we are aware of and we are constantly looking to correct inconsistencies where possible in our development plan. This includes, but is not limited to, some recent hot topics:
    • Graphical inconsistencies, including shaders
    • Holes in multiplayer maps
    • Differences in LAN models

• NEWLY– During remastered Halo: Combat Evolved cutscenes with Cortana, her facial animations are not fully displayed.
• When playing with Anniversary Graphics enabled on Xbox Series X and at 4K 120Hz, the frame rate may drop noticeably in certain areas and/or cause noticeable image tearing
  • If your monitor supports variable refresh rate (VRR), enabling this feature may reduce the impact of this issue
  • If your monitor does not support VRR, playback at 60Hz will provide a smoother gaming experience
• cooperation delay
  • We are currently unable to identify any issues with this feature, and its functionality is similar to the rest of My Client Center. There is no work in progress to improve/write the deprecated network code in this part of the game. Unfortunately, that would be a massive undertaking and simply not within the scope of what the team can currently deliver.

• The classic rock song about saving the world that plays in the Silent Cartographer mission in Halo: Combat Evolved plays out of order.
• In Halo: Combat Evolved multiplayer, several maps have a lot of audio reverberation, including UI effects and voice prompts.

Halo 2: Anniversary

active issues
The following issues affect Halo 2: Anniversary as of 06/23/2021 version 1.2398.0.0.

• Newly- It's rare for a game to kick both players out of a co-op campaign session after skipping a cutscene in remastered graphics.
  
• Active enemy camouflage can become distorted when playing in remastered graphics
• Terminal videos are only displayed in English by default
• Subtitles are not present in the game
• The subtitles are not in sync with the audio in the cutscenes
• Cinematic audio in Halo 2 and Halo 2: Anniversary depends on different sound options
• Pre-rendered videos and terminal videos may have visual issues with aspect ratios other than 16:9 because they were rendered in 16:9
• When the Scarab Skull is active, several weapons are missing firing sound effects
• When firing a plasma rifle with the scarab skull turned on, a sharp crash may occur
• When a Sentinel is destroyed, its lights are briefly visible before disappearing.

• Any rotating camera due to the view angle limitation on the passenger seat of the vehicle gets stuck above 60 fps
• Background sound effects are missing on Nebula and Skyward
• There is some pixelation in the shadows
• Performance drop during 3 batch games
  Some maps have areas where texture resolution is lower than expected
• Looking at the fan in Stonetown, the frame rate sometimes drops to 45fps
• Sometimes the sound is missing when reloading a weapon
• If you are using the latest Intel drivers with integrated graphics, you will not be able to run the game
• Lighting is inconsistent between Elite and Spartan armor
• The hoplite armor is missing part of the back armor in the game

• The hit log is inconsistent with the original game
• The respawn counter is hidden behind the territory capture indicator
• Superbouncing does not reflect deprecated behavior
• Snow effects do not match older visual effects
• The sun is not visible on most maps

• Property zone properties cannot be changed on mouse click, but keyboard arrow keys work as expected
• Halo 2: Anniversary multiplayer movies are capped at 60fps even with unlimited fps enabled

halo 3

active issues
The following are active issues for Halo 3 as of 06/23/2021 v1.2398.0.0.

• Protective Armor is available as a separate Stash option in Customization and cannot be saved. Use the "Protective Helmet" option to equip protective equipment in the game
• Some keys cannot be bound when using non-English keyboards
• Some players are seeing the error message "At least one action is not associated with a key" after updating the game or when switching between Halo Insider and Retail editions.
  • We've improved our missing shortcut reports by adding a per-title notification when another title has disconnected actions. While we are still investigating the causes of this issue, we recommend that you run "Restore Defaults" in the "Controls" settings page if you are still experiencing this issue

• NEWLY- Elite tertiary colors disappear after disabling new skins in the options menu.
• The RHINE set has some cropping issues in the Adjustments menu.
• The secondary weapon jumps on the player's back with the new Season 6 chest armor tweaks.
• Some weapons have minor clipping issues after adjusting the backpack.
• Battle rifle lights go out when using S6 weapon skins.
• Player decals do not appear on new Season 5 right armor pieces.
• The AVIATOR headset clicks during some Tech Suit animations.
• On the "Avalanche" map, the Scorpions have a snowless version when the "Standard" skin is equipped.
• Throwing animation does not play when deploying equipment while using Automag
  • Our team is aware of this and will continue to investigate possible causes and solutions when this happens. We hope to have more information on this in the future. Model positions in weapon view show clipping or player model selection
• Model positions in weapon view show clipping or player model selection
  Additionally, we addressed this mid-flight and post-flight to eliminate "exposed" Spartan (or Elite) weaponry. While there are still some issues with multi-monitor FOV, centered and ultra-wide reticle, we are still receiving feedback and working to develop more support for adjusting the position of the display model in all titles.

For the "Waterfall" card:

• Performance may drop significantly in some areas of the card.
• In rare cases, players using ultra-wide monitors may suddenly stop loading textures and geometry while playing.

NEWLY- For the "Advantage" card:

• There are no Guardians flying in the background.
  • REP-LOC MAINTENANCE LOG 834920.303.11 // Local Guardian fleet called to site for routine maintenance and further optimization. Normal archiving protocols will resume on the next cycle.

• Mission progress is reset to the beginning of the mission after selecting Resume Campaign after switching between Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

• On Xbox One, the flying camera settings do not apply to theater controls

• Non-English speakers are much quieter than English speakers.

• The "Allow Editing" knob and all the options it contains are capitalized.

Halo 3: EPISODE

active issues
The following are active issues for Halo 3: ODST as of 4/28/2021 v1.2282.0.0.

• Stats and medals earned in Halo 3: Firefight Mode ODST are not uniquely identified in the Options and Career menus.

• Shadows cast on characters, enemies, and vehicles may appear too dark during gameplay.
  Split-screen 5.1 surround sound players may have issues with audio transitions after audio recording is complete.
  Single shot weapons like the Automag or Covenent Carbine bounce more aggressively than in the original game.
  Players who have an aspect ratio other than 16:9, FOV, and/or centered crosshair will sometimes see through the player character model.

• NEWLY- Only the host hears the lines during the game.
• The brutal AI can get stuck if you try to jump over low railings or walls.
  • We've made some improvements based on feedback from our recent Halo 3: ODST flight, but we're still discovering other places where this issue occurs.

• Ghosts can become trapped in the environment, blocking the progress of the match.
  • The inclusion of the new extended game modes revealed this as an old bug in the title (Halo 3 ODST Firefight on old, unexpected rocket launcher soldiers with infinite ammo!).
  • In the meantime, we fixed the issue by removing game variants: this exploit is easily reproduced on the affected maps (Fiestfight, Rocketfight, etc.) but is still possible in modded games.
  • We are working to resolve this as part of the game logic, and we are doing so carefully to respect the original gameplay.
• The player's grenades appear to teleport and explode from the first landing spot.

• Mission progress is reset to the beginning of the mission after selecting Resume Campaign after switching between Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
  Player loses audio log collection progress upon death while working towards the "Record Store Owner" achievement.

• Mombasa Streets mission videos sometimes show inaccurate name and preview image in menus and loading screens.
  On Xbox One, the flying camera settings do not apply to theater controllers.

Halo 4

active issues
The following are active issues for Halo 4 as of 06/23/2021 v1.2398.0.0.

• On PC, the graphical texture filtering option does not affect the visual effects of the game.
  • Please submit a ticket to Halo Support if you encounter this issue and include media, replication steps, and additional details of when and how it happened to give our developers an in-depth look at the issue.
• The decal does not appear correctly on the Spartan model in the armor customization menu.

• NEWLY– Forearm and shoulder armor "Champion's Pack" does not display properly in-game when viewed in first person.
• The Covenant Rifle seems to flicker or knock over when starting a sprint.
• If you play with a field of view (FOV) greater than 78, the Spartan laser beam will not line up with the barrel of the gun.
• Light sources throughout the title have brighter effects than intended.
• Gameplay will not be visible if you are playing on a computer with Intel HD, UHD or Iris graphics.

• When an Xbox Series X|S host is co-op playing with someone on another platform in Infinity, Dawn, or Composer tiers, the non-hosting player may experience a software lock after the next mission loading screen.
• The intro cutscenes for the "Composer" and "Midnight" missions show momentary flashes during the cutscene.
• Mission progress is reset to the beginning of the mission after selecting Resume Campaign after switching between Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
• The second video of the "Reclaimer" mission does not show the intended lighting.
• Several game scenes do not display full bars in the following aspect ratios: 16:10, 5:4, 4:3, 3:2 and any custom window aspect ratios.
• The player's movement can be hampered and cause the player to become trapped around the gravity lift in Alliance blocking turrets.
• Bright Promethean weapon VFX may disappear or move from their intended locations when returning to a previous checkpoint.
• When watching video from a terminal in a co-op session, the game still responds to input and plays audio.
• The "Reclaimer" mission stops loading or parts of the map are missing (support.halowaypoint.com – https://support.halowaypoint.com/hc/en-us/articles/360052516151).

• The field of view seen when performing a kill or using an armor skill is linked to the vehicle's FOV setting.

• NEWLY- The "Hero Pack" forearm armor is displayed as Master Chief or Recruit forearm armor when viewed in first person perspective during a Spartan Ops game.
• When playing Spartan Ops with the audio language set to something other than English, videos play in English.
• When restarting missions in-game, various objects and characters may have incorrect textures or lighting.

• Property zone option properties cannot be changed on mouse click, but keyboard arrow keys work as expected.
• When playing with a gamepad and frame rates above 60 FPS, the Switch Rotation Axes option has a small box where you can enable it.

• Videos are limited to 60fps even with unlimited fps enabled.
