Professional diver's watch with helium vent valve
In 1993, Frenchman Roland Specker set a new world record in freediving at 80 m.Omega Seamaster Diver 300Mon the wrist. came soon afterOmegareleased this watch along with the release of the chronograph. Both models were the first Omega zhelium outlet valveand therefore suitable for saturation diving. Like his famous brother, TheSeamaster 300The Diver 300M is water resistant to 300 m (30 bar, 984 ft).
Unlike the Seamaster 300, the Diver 300M has a date display and a surprisingly more modern design. The wavy edge of the bezel is particularly striking, as is the dial attached to it.black, white, grey, blue or - from 2022 - olive, has a distinct wave pattern on most releases. Diver 300M also rocks skeletal sword-shaped hands.
Omega offers this watch in a variety of sizes ranging from 28mm to 44mm, most of which are usually made of stainless steel. Titanium, ceramic, gold and two-tone gold and stainless steel variants are also available. Some models are even available in cases made of platinum or tantalum, a rare and highly corrosion-resistant graphite gray metal.
In the beginning, this professional diving watch was available with a quartz or automatic movement. However, Omega only uses mechanical pointers on newer models. These watches are not only certified by the chronometer, but also equipped with Omegacoaxial exhaustsince 2006. Most calibers are also certified Master Chronometers, meaning they can withstand magnetic fields of up to 15,000 gauss.
All these features caught the attention of none other than James Bond, who first wore the quartz powered Seamaster Professional 300M in 1995 at "GoldenEye". A quarter of a century later, the 007 still wore the 300M in No Time To Die - this time with a Co-Axial Master Chronometer and a titanium case.

Prices for the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M range from around €1,400 for a pre-owned quartz watch to over €50,000 for special or particularly rare versions.

The latest generation of chronographs has only two sub-dials, a combined minute and hour counter at 3 o'clock, and a small second hand at 9 o'clock, with a date display at 6 o'clock. This design was necessary to accommodate the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Caliber 9900, which also provides each watch with 60-hour power reserve. The stainless steel version with a rubber strap changes hands with Chrono24 for around 6,500 euros. If you prefer the two-tone version released in 2021 in titanium, Sedna gold, and tantalum, expect to pay around $18,600. These watches feature the Omega 1164 caliber, which is based on the proven and durable Valjoux 7750.
