In 1962, on October 5 to be exact, the world discovered a figure who was to become a legend on the silver screen. Based on Ian Fleming's 1958 novel of the same name,dr nobegins a symbolic series of 25 films starring a British secret agent working for MI6 under the codename 007, James Bond. 60 years later, the show's impact is undeniable. James Bond is not just a character, he is a lifestyle that combines elements that have become as iconic as this man. Cars, of course, like the DB5, but also watches. And if several brands were involved in the beginning,Omega has had GoldenEye since 1995becoming an archetypelink clock. And now both parties are celebrating 60 years of the 007 movies with the new Omega Seamaster Diver 300M 60 Years of James Bond. And when it comes to swatches and new colors, the main themes are the return of the wave-shaped dial and the cool animated case back… Some goodgolden Eyethe atmosphere is inside!
60 years of James Bond 007 movies
We often associate the name Bond with the silver screen and actors such as Connery, Brosnan and Craig. However, it must be remembered that the iconic figure began to live on paper, under the pen of the British novelist Ian Fleming, in 1953. Although the 1962 moviedr nowas the first of the Bond books to be made into a film, was the sixth in the Fleming series, starting withreal casino- which has been adapted twice, including in 2006 as part of the official series.
The James Bond 007 series is one of the most iconic, compelling, enduring and profitable in the entire film industry. 25 movies, hundreds of different locations around the world, tons of bullets fired into the hearts of villains... and some of the greatest actors of their generation took on the role of the iconic British spy.

Omega x Bond 007 connection
As mentioned, several watch brands featured in the early James Bond 007 movies. However, none (except maybe one… you'll recognize) can claim the same iconic status as the Omega Seamaster Diver Professional with its wave-style blue dial... , which we all know as the James Bond watch.
Omegaand the James Bond 007 series have been working together since Goldeneye in 1995. A total of ten different watches were used in all nine films (during the time of Brosnan and Craig). The effect of this long-term and symbolic cooperation is not simply product placement. It is integral to the redefinition of the entire character undertaken in the mid-1990s by Lindy Hemming, Oscar-winning costume designer. She was responsible for the launch of the 007 watchgolden Eye. For example, 007 will be seen for the first time in 1995 with Goldeneye, dressed in the famous Omega Seamaster 300M Professional. There were reasons behind the choice of Omega, of course, such as Bond's military background, but also Hemming's desire to rethink the character of 007 to make him more modern and European.
As we explain in detailin this detailed article and in this video, as many as ten different clocks can be seen in nine films covering the years 1995-2021. Contains a classic, I would say cult,Seamaster Professional 300m(quartz or automatic) in 4 movies and of course beloved gadgets. In the three films, Bond wears two different watches, only when played by Daniel Craig. This new character also marked the retirement of gadgets, marking a new twist in the Bond series, making 007 more realistic and dramatic.
Gadgets are back in 2015facemovie and can be found again in 2021There's no time to die, the last film with Daniel Craig as James Bond. These two films also featured watches designed specifically for the character and later made available to the public. We got all the details, movie by movie, about the watches that James Bond wears here.
Reminder - Titanium Seamaster Edition 007
Now, before we talk about the watch Omega is set to release for the 60th anniversary of the Bond film franchise, a quick recap of the watch that starred inThere's no time to die, zOmega Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition. In a way, this marked the return of the classic SMP watch to 007's wrist, but with a number of unique features that set it apart.
The clock is based onSeamaster Diver 300M Master Classic stopwatch, which means it has most of the technical features - 42mm in diameter, a 300m WR case with rotating cams, a helium valve at 10 o'clock, a unidirectional serrated bezel and an automatic internal caliber Master Chronometer. What makesissue 007Unique is all about the combination of colors and materials, resulting in a drastically more classic look.
The 42 mm x 13.15 mm case was made entirely of brushed grade 2 titanium, and the bezel was based on an aluminum insert, the so-called. royal suit. There's also a unique box-shaped sapphire crystal to protect the dial that matches the bezel - tropical-colored aluminum and vintage-style indexes and hands. There are many military inscriptions throughout the watch, such as a large arrow on the dial and several defense-inspired engravings on the solid (not sapphire) case back. Below is the undated caliber 8800. Finally, a choice was offered between a NATO striped textile strap and a Milanese titanium bracelet. All in all, one of the coolest (although quite expensive) Seamaster Diver 300M editions.
The new Omega Seamaster Diver 300M 60 years of James Bond
At first glance, the new Seamaster 60 Years Of Bond - Special Unlimited Edition - looks like a variation on the design created for the 007 editionThere's no time to die… Well, in a way yes, but this new watch remains on the path of evolution. It's not just about the blue color or the steel case. There are many details that make it unique. This is usually a homage to the original features of the watch from the 1995 moviegolden Eye, with some really cool details all around.
So first thing. With this watch, Omega pays homage to the original 42mm stainless steel Bond Watch. It retains the classic SMP look, with rotating lugs, a serrated one-way bezel and a helium valve at 10 o'clock (yes, it's still there whether you like it or not). Coming back to steel, it also has a classic finish with brushed and polished surfaces. No surprises in terms of specifications; Water resistance 300m, crown screwed into protective caps, screw down. Note that Omega has retained the elegant and charming box-shaped sapphire crystal of the 007 edition, instead of the classic domed sapphire of the standard Seamaster Diver 300M.
Now let's get down to the details. Visually, there is another important knot to the past; introduction of the bevel. Because the Seamaster Diver 300M 60 Years of James Bond is retro 90s like the 007, it has an aluminum frame with a white body (all markings filled with Super-LumiNova) and no polished ceramic inlay. And yes, it is blue as it should be. Note that the blue color is darker, more subtle and less saturated than the current ceramic SM 300M models, which pays homage to early SMP watches. The final touch, the classic zero triangle, has been replaced by the 60 mark, referring to the anniversary the watch is celebrating.
This homage to the 90s and early Bond watches continues on the dial... Yes, it's a throwback to the classic wave pattern that is discreetly laser etched into the face of the dial rather than etched into it. Yes, like the frame, it is oxalic acid anodized aluminum. And yes, it also has the same dark blue color. In the same spirit as the 007 edition, but with its own personality. It is also a undated watch with a modern colored Super-LumiNova which means there is no artificial patina on it. Military markings have also disappeared. In short, it has that ultra-cool youthful feel to it (sorry, but I like the idea of going back to the original '90s SMP).golden Eyesee...) This new Seamaster 60 Years of James Bond is also equipped with the classic perforated hands of the model, but with a new Lollipop second hand, painted white and with a luminous dot on the edge.
There are also no major surprises in the envelope, because the Seamaster Diver 300M 60 Years Of Bond remains faithful to the base 880x automatic - here the caliber 8806 to be exact. This internal 29mm movement is of course Master Chronometer certified, equipped with a coaxial escapement and highly anti-magnetic. It has a power reserve of 55 hours and beats at Omega's extraordinary frequency of 3.5 Hz. The indications are the classic central H-M-S.
But Seamaster 60 Years of James Bond is really impressive looking at the back of the case. Think of an animation where Omega is integrated50th Anniversary Speedmaster "Silver Snoopy Award"? Well, the brand has done it again, this time with a Bond themed animation. The back case has sapphire glass, with the classic twisted barrel of a Bond gun on the surface - formed by micro-structured plating. And under it, attached to the gear of the second hand, is a rotating disk. And thanks to the combination of transparent and dark surfaces, it magically shows the moving and appearing figure of James Bond, as well as the intro of the movie ... It's a gimmick, sure, but it's fun, very watch-keeping and remains very discreet when you want to hide it.
Finally, like the 007 edition, the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M 60 Years Of James Bond is worn with a Milanese bracelet, closed with a folding clasp, but this time in stainless steel.

Since 1995, James Bond has worn OMEGA Seamasters in every film. Over the years, we have also created some very special limited edition timepieces whose special features honour 007 and his legacy of more than half a century of genre-defining movies.
Is Omega Seamaster Diver 300 a good investment? ›When investing in an Omega wristwatch, achieving an increase in value over time is the main goal, but also importantly, so is enjoyment for the wearer. Two of Omega's most sought after models are the Seamaster and the Speedmaster, which historically prove to be the safest investments.
Is Omega Seamaster Diver 300M good? ›If I were only looking for one perfect watch to wear (and no others in the collection), I'd definitely consider the Seamaster Diver 300M as my “one good watch”. Upon release, the retail price of the steel/Sedna version I liked so much was €6,100.
Do Omega James Bond watches go up in value? ›Because of their careful engineering, strong brand stature, and historic roots, Omega watches can hold and even increase in value for years to come.
Is Seamaster 300 better than the Submariner? ›The Submariner is slightly more accurate and is built with premium Rolex-specific materials you can't get anywhere else. However, the Seamaster comes in more styles and variations, including different sizes and those with more water resistance.
Why is Omega better than Rolex? ›In terms of overall accuracy, Omega wins, since they not only make mechanical watches but also quite a few quartz watches. Quartz watches, as we all know, are more accurate than their mechanical counterparts. Rolex, on the other hand, doesn't manufacture quartz watches anymore.
How much does the Omega Seamaster 300 increase in value? ›This is an increase of about 15% in less than two years. The relative increase is impressive, but compared to other luxury watches, the price of the watch is (still) manageable. Of course, there are watches that promise a greater increase in value, but ultimately the Omega Seamaster is not a classic "investment watch".
How long does Omega Seamaster 300 last? ›OMEGA watches are designed to last a lifetime if they receive the best care. We recommend that you have the water-resistance checked every year and a full service performed every 5 to 8 years.
Can you actually dive with a Seamaster? ›While these watches were sturdy, waterproof and more aesthetically suited to civilian life than their military predecessors, it wasn't until 9 years later, in 1957, that Omega released its first proper, civilian dive watch, complete with timing bezel and 200 metres of water resistance: the Seamaster 300.
Can you swim with an Omega Seamaster 300? ›
As the Rolex Submariner's toughest competitor, the Omega Seamaster Diver 300 M (Ref. 210.30. 42.20. 03.001) is not only an outstanding diver's watch that is waterproof up to 300 metres, but a true statement as well.
What watch does Daniel Craig wear? ›Daniel Craig's Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Co-Axial Master Gold. Daniel Craig has been seen wearing Omega timepieces even off the big-screen. At the 2021 London premier of No Time to Die, Craig wore a 41mm Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Co-Axial Master Chronometer in 18 carat Sedna gold.
What Omega is worn in skyfall? ›Bond chooses a Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M Co-Axial chronometer – again, without gadgets – with a cool, classic black dial and bezel and a discreet 42 mm stainless steel case on a matching bracelet. and related James Bond Trademarks are trademarks of Danjaq, LLC.

The watch was limited to 10,007 pieces and proved to be a huge success among collectors.
Which is more valuable Rolex or Omega? ›Price Differences. Perhaps the most significant difference between these two brands is their price. In general, Omega watches tend to be about half the price of their Rolex counterparts. The range for the former is around $3,000-8,000, while the latter comes in at $6,000-20,000.
Does Omega hold value like Rolex? ›Brands like Rolex, Patek Philippe, and Omega are considered to be luxury watch brands. Because of this, their watches tend to hold value better than other brands. The thing is that people are more willing to pay a high price for a luxury watch because they know that it is a quality product.

What is the most expensive Omega 007 watch? ›The Seamaster Diver 300m 60 Years of James Bond Canopus Gold is by far the more exclusive affair (£137,300, or $165,200), made in Omega's white gold alloy with a dial made from natural gray silicon and a bezel circled with green and yellow diamonds, all supposedly combine to evoke Ian Fleming's Jamaican home.
How can you tell a fake Seamaster? ›Take a look at the dial. On the genuine watch, the hands and markers look like they could have been cut straight from sapphires, so smooth and glossy is the mirror finish. Compare the fake, and its finish is uneven, the components themselves bearing the hallmarks of the machine that made them.
Is Seamaster 300 worth it? ›

Can I shower with my dive watch? ›It is strongly advisable not to shower with your watch on. GOLDENEYE : 007'S FIRST SEAMASTER 1995
The OMEGA Seamaster took on a new supporting role in 1995 with the launch of James Bond film, GoldenEye. Given the spy's penchant for style and need for faultless equipment, the Seamaster was a natural choice.
